Retro Fit- Metal Halide to High Bay
Twin Rinks Ice Arena had 50 (quantity), 400 watt Metal Halides hanging in each of their Rinks. They had a total of 100 fixtures. The lighting was very dim and players complained of dark spots on the ice. We decided to change out all 100, 400 watt Metal Halides and put up 6 Lamp T8 high bay fixtures.
- 100- 400watt (458watts) Metal Halides = 45,800 watts
- 100- 6 lamp T8 high bay fixture (218 watts) = 21,800 watts
- We saved them 24,000 watts and achieved a brighter and more even distribution of light on the ice.
Comed is offering rebates right now(Comed money may not be available so please call and we will tell you what is available for 2012). We were able to get them $7,200.00 to put towards their project. Comed paid them their check of $7,200.00 within two weeks of the completion of the project.
Twin Rinks then decided to change out their 400watt Metal Halide Lobby fixtures as well.
- 10-400watt (458watts) Metal Halides = 4,580
- 10-6lamp T8 high bay fixtures (218 watts) = 2,180
- We saved them 2,400 watts
Comed, again, sent them another rebate check for $720.00 to put towards that project.
